Welcome to the first edition of the
Pass the Plus e-newsletter. This monthly newsletter is intended to spread some of the
good news (the pluses) of the Cleveland Plus region.
Cleveland Plus is an entirely new way to look at Northeast Ohio - as one
united region leveraging all of our strengths to compete for new businesses,
leisure travelers, conventions and meetings. It's no surprise that YOU,
the residents of Northeast Ohio, are the best sales team for the region.
It's time for us to let others - from around here AND outside the region
- know what makes this such a great place to LIVE + WORK + LEARN + PLAY.
So - Pass the Plus! Forward this newsletter along to friends and colleagues because we've
got it all - together.

questions and get information about the area before exploring. The new
Visitors Center is on the first floor of the former Higbee Building on
Euclid Avenue. The facility features a large map of the area, plenty
of travel brochures for attractions around the Cleveland Plus region,
three computer kiosks where visitors can plot their travels and staff
members to assist with reservations, directions, ticket purchases and
other questions. This location also houses the Convention and Visitors
Bureau of Greater Cleveland staff and the Greater Cleveland Partnership
offices. |
| Cleveland-Hopkins International Airport receives top honors |
| Cleveland Hopkins International Airport was ranked fourth medium-sized
airport in overall airport satisfaction by J.D. Power and Associates in
the 2007 North America Airport Satisfaction Study (SM). |
| Youngstown in the Wall Street Journal |
| The Wall Street Journal featured a story on Youngstown in its May 3, 2007
edition. The article examines Youngstown's strategic approach to the
city's population change by focusing on a "clean and green" goal with
the addition of more green space and larger residential lots. |
| Cleveland Ranks as One of the World's Most Livable Urban Centers |
| In its May 5, 2007 issue,
The Economist listed Cleveland as the 26th most livable city in the world based on factors
such as a strong base of skilled workers, a good sense of democracy, community
involvement and a connection to the global market. Cleveland tied with
Luxembourg and Pittsburgh, sharing the highest ranking of any United States
city on the list. |
| Ohio Earns Fifth Spot on the Site Selection Competitiveness Award |

climate. |
| Cleveland Plus Happenings |
| Cleveland Plus Young Professionals Mix and Mingle at Networking in the Middle II |
| Young Professionals from the entire Cleveland Plus region joined together
at the Holiday Inn Independence on May 31 to learn more about the Cleveland
Plus campaign and network with each other. The evening included hors d'ouevres,
drinks, networking and even a big screen TV with the Cavaliers vs. Pistons
game five (we won, of course). About 300 people were in attendance from
the Akron, Cleveland, Canton and Youngstown areas. In fact, the Mahoning
Valley Professional 20/30 club even contracted buses to bring its members
to the event. Click HERE to view pictures from this event. More information
to come on Networking in the Middle III. |

| Wooster, Ohio |
In November of 2006,
Ohio Magazine named Wooster one of Ohio's Top Five "Best Hometowns." Nestled in the
heart of Wayne County, Wooster certainly lives up to that accolade with
its quaint town, expansive parkland and rich heritage.
Next May, the town of 25,000 residents will celebrate its bicentennial
with old-fashioned trolley tours, fireworks and parades throughout the
historic and culturally diverse downtown. |
